Power of Words
Once upon a time, a group of frogs were hopping through the woods when two of them accidentally fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they started shouting that the two frogs were in big trouble and might not make it out alive.
The two frogs trapped in the pit heard the warnings from their friends, but they didn’t give up hope. They tried to jump out of the pit with all their might, ignoring the negative comments from the other frogs. Even though it was tough, they kept on trying.
However, the other frogs kept insisting that the trapped frogs should stop trying because they believed they were already doomed. One of the trapped frogs started to feel discouraged by the negative comments and eventually gave up. Sadly, he fell down and died.
But the other frog refused to give in to despair. He continued jumping as hard as he could, determined to escape from the pit. Despite the discouraging words from the other frogs, he kept going. Eventually, after many tries, he finally made it out of the pit!
When he reached the top, the other frogs were amazed and asked him, “Why didn’t you listen to us? We were telling you to stop because we thought you couldn’t make it.” The frog explained that he couldn’t hear their discouraging words because he was deaf. He thought they were cheering him on the whole time!
This story teaches us two important lessons:
- Words have great power. Kind and encouraging words can lift someone’s spirits and help them get through tough times. But hurtful and negative words can bring someone down and even cause harm.
- It’s important to be mindful of what we say to others. Instead of speaking negatively, we should choose our words carefully and try to uplift and encourage those around us.
So, let’s remember to use our words to spread kindness and positivity. A little encouragement can go a long way in making someone’s day brighter. Be the kind of person who lifts others up with your words!
